Cognitives Neurosciences

Psychology has a lot of interesting areas, but I like psychology related with biology, especially the neuroscience area. This area studies structure, function, evolutionary history, development, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, informatics, computational neuroscience and pathology of the nervous system. I like the relationship between our biological constitution and the mind (how the mind mades our perceptions over the biological mechanism).

This area is difficult to studie in Chile now, but our country is the most advanced in Latin America. There are some laboratories in Chile, in some Universities that research the nervous sistem and human psychology.

However, now the interest in this area is increasing, because the marketing studies need information about the brain and the way of perceive, for example.

Finally, It´s important to emphasize the Humberto Maturana and Francisco Varela contributions to change the limited biological paradigm. With their studies and thought the human psychology have been integrated like important way of explanation in the scientific research.

Hello!

Today, I want to show you one website related with my studie area. I´m studying psychology, but I´m interested in neuroscience area, above all in perception.

Visual perception is very interesting, you can to understand how to work the eyes and the brains mechanism to interpretate this perceptions, and besides, you can to learn about “the mind” mades our visual perception (color perceptions, for example). In this link you can find all about visual perception.

In the second link , you can find a great article about a new descovery bases in the complex mechanism of the brain. People who was born blind, now can see! The differents senses complement each other and thank to a new computational technology, the scientifics have developed the way to blind people can see through sound.

my last weekend

The last friday, I was with my classemates and boyfriend in the university at night. That day had a party in journalism faculty and then, it was in social sciencie parks faculty, because all students finished their semester. It was very fun, I danced untill half past ten.

I sleept all saturday morning, and after, in the evening, I went to “casa ideas” (providencia) to buy somethings that I needed. I bought a beautiful different shades of green Pompom Rug (in the picture), and some bowls.


On sunday, I studied industrial psychology (for a test).

On this weekend, I didn´t work like I usually do. I work packing merchandise in a supermarket.

When I’ lived hard moments in my life, and I was very sad and downhearted I listen to this song to feel better, because this words tell about difficult moments and situations that will be over. This song is “Stop Crying your heart”, the band who sings this song is Oasis, and the album is Heathen Chemistry. Oasis is a rock British band, and the leaders and composers are Gallagher brothers.

Hi!

I’m Carolina, and I study Psychology in Universidad de Chile. I’m in my third year. Now, I’m living in Santiago, but my home is in Algarrobo with my parents.
I live in flat, with two female flatmates, near the faculty. I don’t need to take the bus to arrive the class... I’m very lucky!

I love tribal fusion belly dance, it’s my favourite dance! And I like to make trinket earrings and rings.

This blog will be a great opportunity to learn English in a fun way. I hope to write interesting post in near future, and achieve good qualifications in English class.
